The Orangerie Bed & Breakfast is a beautiful French estate in the middle of the lovely
coutryside
of the Pays d’Auge. The manicured grounds are home to a splendid garden, including
extensive lawns and a private forest
The house itself is an elegant Eighteenth Century building, with a serene, happy
atmosphere,
where you can enjoy a very relaxing holiday.
The hamlet has several old housesand a church which is no longer used. The original
château
was destroyed, but the estate still has a certain aristocratic air.
The Orangerie Bed & Breakfast was originally built to house orange trees in the winter, but it
was transformed in the early 19th century. The current owners have preserved all the
original
architectural elements, and the antique-furnished rooms are very cozy, with everything
geared to
your comfort.
We offer 3 double rooms, and one room with three beds, perfect for children.
The Blue Room:
The ancient pavement gives this room its charm. There's a large double bed, as well as an
en-
suite bathroom (shower, no bath tub). The window frames are surrounded with the
branches of
a vivacious grapevine, which has succulent grapes in the fall that you can pick from your
bedroom.
The Pink Room:
Furnished with French antique furniture, with a large double bed too. The comfortable en-
suite
bathroom (bathtub) is impressively sized.
The Vegetable Garden Room and the children’s room:
Overlooking the former vegetable garden, this room's a little smaller than the others, but it
also
has a double bed. The bathroom is just next door, and also serves the children’s room with
three single beds.
We serve breakfast in the decorated kitchen or in the garden in front of the house, where you
can enjoy the morning sun. Your host, Marie-Christine, serves tea, coffee, or hot chocolate
(your preference), as well as milk, fruit juice, crispy croissants, jam and local butter.
She'd love to enjoy a cup with you, and will tell you all about the great attractions the area
has to
offer - there are so many hidden treasures.
The Orangerie Bed & Breakfast is in a great location for bycicling and walking tours, along
beautiful country roads. There's also a riding club just 15 minutes away for horseback riding.
The châteaux of Vendeuvre (with incredible miniature furniture and surprise gardens),
Mézidon-
Canon,Crèvecoeur (exhibition of local architecture worth seeing ), St. Germain du Livet, and
the
Haras du Pin are all close by.
There are also a number of old villages you can visit, including Beuvron en Auge, Beaumont
en
Auge, and Préaux St . Sébastien.
There are beaches just 1 hour away as well as Deauville, Trouville, Honfleur and its old
streets
and extraordinary church. And there's a summer concert season and festivals in Deauville.
Guests who stay for longer than three days or are traveling with children are welcome to use
the
kitchen to make your own meals. Dogs are also welcome at L'Orangerie Bed & Breakfast.

CRASH COURSES IN THE ART OF FRENCH “ DO’S AND DONT’S” IN CURRENT MODERN LIFE:
For groups of 4-8 persons. Organized on location by Baroness Hargitay-Gran, the courses
are
informal and amusingly presented on the following themes: how to receive guests,
organise a
dinner –party without getting utterly exhausted, prepare a menu and choose appropriate
wines,
how to set a table and seat your guests. How to serve the dishes...
The “do’s and “dont’s” when you are invited to stay with friends, in a hotel or in a B and B
(yes!),
how to behave in public and in a restaurant...What to wear and where...The delicate issue of
gifts...How to use Internet and your mobile....What blunders to avoid and a hundred other
tips to
succeed in your social life.
Practical exercises: the preparation and participation to a dinner-party on location, and an
outing in a local restaurant with one of the participants playing the role of ‘host’.
Cost for 2 nights and 2 days on location: 200€ / person.
